With general admission to the museum, on-site visitor programs include exhibit and artifact interpretation through various means including written, pictorial, spoken and audio taped information. Some exhibits include interactive components such as educational games and touch tables.

Children's Group Tours - A program designed for interactive hands-on learning through guided familiarization with material culture. Museum educator familiarizes group with museum artifacts. Grades K through 12. Kids love holding history in their hands! Fee: $2 per person plus one complimentary admission for every 15 paid admissions.
Specialized Children's Tours - can be tailored to fit teacher's curriculum. Past tours have included:

Purnell Museum Scavenger Hunt
- for ages 7 through Adult. A fun activity that
encourages in-depth research and problem solving
skills. Takes about 20 minutes to complete. Prizes
awarded to all children who finish this activity.
No charge for Scavenger Hunt with paid museum admission.
Touch Tables - two centers with hands-on activities for visiting children. A general history table and a Pocomoke Indian table. All ages.
Group tours - Interpreters are available to guide adult groups through exhibits, detailing the most noteworthy aspects of our local history as seen through the museum artifacts and exhibits. Fee: $2 per person plus one complimentary admission for every 15 paid admissions.
Traveling Trunk Show - Using museum artifacts, a museum educator illustrates aspects of regional and general American history. This program may also be tailored to a particular area of study. Fee: $40 within Worcester County and Salisbury.
Historic Snow Hill Walking Tour - A self-guided tour map is available at the museum. Hundreds of architecturally significant buildings line the streets of our small community. This publication leads you through Snow Hill, revealing interesting information on most of the buildings built prior to 1887. No fee.
